Two kingdoms

Believers everywhere have to be reminded that they have been translated from the Kingdom of Darkness into the Kingdom of light.

These two kingdoms cannot mix; thus conflict is inevitable. Therefore understanding this will enable us to acknowledge that once we have been born-again we have one duty which is to obey the will of God.

“We need to have a sense of patriotism like Jesus Christ, to the Kingdom first and to our nation's second”

Throughout scripture it is evident to see that there are two Kingdoms warring against each other. The Kingdom of darkness, whose head is Satan; has been contending against the Kingdom of God since Satan was thrown from Heaven onto Earth. The Kingdom of God, whose head is Christ the King and His populous is made up with His citizens; human beings that are born-again and have been translated from the Kingdom of Satan to the Kingdom of Christ.
Colossians 1:12-13, Revelation 12:9, Ephesians 2:2, Hebrews 12:28 and Revelation 19:16.

The demolition of the Kingdom of darkness has been signed, sealed and delivered. There will be a wrapping up of the influence the Prince of the Air will wield. But until then the enemy has free reign on this earth to capture the hearts of men so that they do not realise the truth and remain children of darkness.
John 8:32, Ephesians 2:2, Job 1:7, Revelation 20:7-10 and 1 Thessalonian 5:5.

A citizen of the Kingdom of light is an individual that has become born-again with a new nature (spirit awakened) and their old nature (spirit deadened) from the Kingdom of darkness has passed away. The love and loyalty they once held towards the system of this world has to be replaced with steadfast faithfulness and commitment to the will of God.
Ephesians 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:17 and 1 John 2:15.

This quote from our King Jesus Christ stands alone:

Matthew 12:30: He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

God despises a tepid individual who oscillates between light and darkness. When the final harvest of the world comes the wheat and tares will be separated and all those that are lukewarm will be included in the burning of the tares. God declares to the Laodiceans Ecclesia that He will spurn lukewarm (tepid) individuals because they have chosen to fluctuate between the side of evil and righteousness.
Revelations 3:15-16 and Matthew 13:24-30.

A true Patriot of the Kingdom of God is an individual that in all his doing stands for the truth and remains in the light. The choice to stand has been made once we have been elected into His Kingdom. Thus our part in keeping the New Covenant is to remain abiding in His commandments and committed to His will.
John 6:44, Acts 13:48, 1 John 5:3, Ephesians 6:13, 2 Peter 1:10 and Matthew 22:14

Attempting to remain on the side-lines of the Kingdom of God denotes a choice of passivity. A passivity that is not tolerated in God’s kingdom. Active citizenship is a necessary attribute exhibited by His citizens in His Kingdom.

Human beings are creatures of comfort by default. A creature of comfort routinely returns to their old habits and familiar environment and rarely ventures to new terrain. When we are called, we are called to leave the many familiar things that brought us comfort and move into unfamiliar terrain like Abraham was called to when he travelled towards Canaan. When we are transported into the Kingdom of God (unfamiliar ground), and with the aid of the Holy Spirit He promises to teach us all things; so that we can move into all truth.
Genesis 12:1-2, John 14:26 and John 16:13.

In Matthew 11: 12: And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. The Kingdom of God is advancing and taking hold of terrain by establishing Ecclesias (God’s theocratic government) on earth as seen clearly in the Apostle Paul's ministry and is still continuing to do so. However in this current day, it seems that earthly rule has full jurisdiction even over a citizen's personal home life. Whereas the divine law of God does not seem to be resonant in our everyday lives. The Law of God seems only important to be obeyed in the four corners of most churches but once outside it becomes subservient to the jurisprudence of that nation.

A citizen in the Kingdom of God should not bend to the rules of their former master (Satan). Living in this world means that its legislation will always be in constant tension with God’s Theonomy. How a citizen navigates in this constant tension, remaining faithful to the King and committed to His will is a great task that is only possible with the Holy Spirit’s influence and guidance.

God has come to restore to us the truth of the Kingdom and bring us into greater understanding of His citizenship and the application that we as His Ecclesia are His theocratic rule upon this Earth. However this influence that God expects us to wield in this domain cannot be employed until as His citizens we stand as patriots in His Kingdom.
1 Peter 2:9, Ephesians 2:12, 19 and Romans 8:19.
