It's amazing to see how our King preached the kingdom first to the Jews, then to the Gentiles. No kingdom can stop the infiltration of the Kingdom of God.

Understanding why the book was...Thank you, Fred, for sharing this video. I have never understood why Mathew used "The kingdom of Heaven" … now it makes sense. Understanding why the book was written, the audience and how it was written was really profound. The book is about "How to live in the kingdom now?" The king has already come, and now focus on living. I was astonished to understand when Jesus said, "Woe".. it actually happened. I know he is king and doesn't randomly talk, but I felt the weight of the "woes".. and how our brother David connected the fulfilment of the woes.
The word ekklesia, only found in Mathew's book, is something interesting. The five blocks— lifestyle, mission, growth, community, future and the king's return—exciting and instructive teaching.
I love how he put the whole book's objective, "How to get ready for the king coming back to inaugurate the full age to come, here and now."

The weight the word...Thank you, Fred, for sharing a thorough explanation of the Gospel of Mathew. Wow... I have never understood it this way. The weight the word "Gospel" carries is a fresh revelation for me. Yes, I used the word to direct others to find a specific message. Yes, I have said its meaning many times, "good news", but didn't understand the profound meaning it carries. The connection it has with OT, why it was written, to whom it was written, and overall its context. It is not that the writer was taking out whatever was in his chest, but it was written with great effort, consideration, carefulness, sacrifice, deliberation, and wisdom.
Wow.. I am amazed that this book clearly explained Jesus's legal adoption, legal roots, divinity, ancestry, and royal heritage. Also, at why Mathew put the 42 generations, really thank you, Fred, learning the connection it has with eternal rest and Julie of Jubblies is astounding. Also, connecting the Magi with OT prophesies and how few chapters are so enriched with a precise fulfilment of prophecies.
Concerning the misconceptions, thank you for shedding light. Very helpful to teach our children. I love how you explained about John; he lived the called-out life, a humble guy and confrontational, living a nomad's life. He is a hero and a true example. Thank you for honouring him that way. Because I had heard people talking about him in an unpleasant way when he sent messengers to Jesus, they portrayed that as a sign of weakness, doubt and unfaithfulness.
The book added weight, and this teaching helped me understand how important it is to read it from the writer's angle, including historical, cultural context, and audience.
