Thank you, Fred, for sharing a thorough explanation of the Gospel of Mathew. Wow... I have never understood it this way. The weight the word "Gospel" carries is a fresh revelation for me. Yes, I used the word to direct others to find a specific message. Yes, I have said its meaning many times, "good news", but didn't understand the profound meaning it carries. The connection it has with OT, why it was written, to whom it was written, and overall its context. It is not that the writer was taking out whatever was in his chest, but it was written with great effort, consideration, carefulness, sacrifice, deliberation, and wisdom.

Wow.. I am amazed that this book clearly explained Jesus's legal adoption, legal roots, divinity, ancestry, and royal heritage. Also, at why Mathew put the 42 generations, really thank you, Fred, learning the connection it has with eternal rest and Julie of Jubblies is astounding. Also, connecting the Magi with OT prophesies and how few chapters are so enriched with a precise fulfilment of prophecies.

Concerning the misconceptions, thank you for shedding light. Very helpful to teach our children. I love how you explained about John; he lived the called-out life, a humble guy and confrontational, living a nomad's life. He is a hero and a true example. Thank you for honouring him that way. Because I had heard people talking about him in an unpleasant way when he sent messengers to Jesus, they portrayed that as a sign of weakness, doubt and unfaithfulness.

The book added weight, and this teaching helped me understand how important it is to read it from the writer's angle, including historical, cultural context, and audience.
